Six movies that pit two forces against each other in the title

You know you’re in for a clash of the titans when a movie features a “versus” in the title! Here are six flicks that pit two titanic forces in a head-to-head deathmatch:

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World

From our review: “So even though Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World is absolutely fantastic, there is a massive segment of the world’s populace that will never even bother to give it a ‘looksee’ even though their lives would be wonderfully augmented by such contact.”

Joe Versus the Volcano

From our review: “Yet it’s not the nutty plot twists that got me captivated, it’s all in the small quiet details of the film. I normally don’t revel in this sort of thing, but Joe versus the Volcano makes tiny things like looking at a wall or listening to a brief but amusing noises.”

Billy the Kid Versus Dracula

From our review: “Let that bounce around your brain for a little bit. Say it. Rolls off the tongue it does. I could probably leave this review right there, for that is a title that says it all.”

Tucker and Dale vs. Evil

From our review: “Comic misunderstandings and gleefully gruesome deaths are par for the course, and it couldn’t have happened to two nicer guys.  Tucker and Dale might not be the brightest bulbs in the shed, but they’re both quite genuine and timid, not understanding that everything they’re doing looks like the actions of serial killers to these camping teens.”

Freddy vs. Jason

From our review: “You may or may not think the Freddy vs. Jason is the ultimate film for these two titans of terror. Personally, I think it’s the closest we’re going to get, and I seriously can’t wait to own it so I can see it again and again.”

Godzilla vs. Kong

From our review: “It’s full of callbacks and references and respect for the old stuff — but it actually offers up a coherent set of storylines and it feels like a proper movie as well as a kaiju epic. “
