As a Gen Xer born in 1977, my Gen X movies showed up in the ’90s. The way I see it, a Gen X ’90s movie should primarily be one that captures the experience of ’70s and early ’80s babies during their teen and young adult years. It’s not just “any movie we watched in the 90s,” we’re talking about the movies that reflected our cultural moment, attitudes, and struggles. The ones that actually felt like they were made for the younger half of Gen X.
