Six movies that party to the max

Maybe you’re not cool enough to get invited to parties, but that can’t stop you from watching one! Here are six flicks that throw a memorable rager:

House Party (1990)

From our review: “If you’ve seen any movie that features a wild and cool party at some teen’s house while their parents are away during which a group of friends go through a series of wacky and life-changing episodes, then House Party will not be a shock to your system.”

Can’t Hardly Wait (1998)

From our review: “Can’t Hardly Wait rocks so hard that you’ll be feeling the back of your head for lumps afterward. Well, nah, I mean, it’s a really groovy flick that has immense rewatchable value.”

Groove (2000)

From our review: “Groove is in love with its music and look. For a party movie, it is extremely weak on story (I cannot remember a single character’s name), but it contains tremendous energy.”

The Beach Girls (1982)

From our review: “It’s a kooky party flick, so colorful characters and outlandish situations are welcome. We’ve got a malfunctioning Coast Guard crew trying to crack down on some weed smugglers, a Peeping Tom gardener, a loud disapproving neighbor, a literal food fight, and so on.”

Take Me Home Tonight (2011)

From our review: “It’s nothing more — or less — than one of those fun party flicks where everyone’s life changes over the course of a single wild night, and there’s probably a romance and a gross misunderstanding and a dance-off and a car wreck involved.”

Bachelor Party (1984)

From our review: “Top off this cinematic sundae with a donkey who does drugs, a father-in-law who gets corrupted by unseemly elements, and a Catholic school bus where the kids play craps for cash, and you’ve got yourself a mildly enjoyable time.”
