Where there’s a hulking cyborg cop raking in box office bonanza, there’s bound to be plenty of… “inspired” films to follow. Here are six Robocop knock-offs to check out:
Lady Battlecop (1990)
From our review: “It’s a depressingly derivative, charmless piece of blah film-making relieved only by the inexplicable villain who seems to have escaped from another movie altogether.”
Robo Vampire (1988)
From our review: “RoboCop Jr. ends up grabbing the short shrift in the costume department. He’s got whatever clothes and athletic pads and helmet that the crew could find for $12 and then spray-paint silver.”

The Demolitionist (1995)
From our review: “Still, there’s a campy scifi charm in this Robocop knockoff. It loves its Dutch angles, has so many of those soft-light shots that the ’90s was fond of doing, and is loaded up with ‘hey it’s THAT guy!’ cameos such as Bruce Campbell, Jack Nance, Heather Langenkamp, and Tom Savini.”
The Vindicator (1986)
From our review: “If you’re not getting RoboCop vibes from this, I’d be surprised. But you’ll also be mindful of Frankenstein, seeing as how the film bludgeons its audience over the head with this homage — going so far as having characters call each other ‘Igor’ and the like.”

Future Force (1989)
From our review: “At first glance, a 1989 scifi movie called Future Force, starring David Carradine with a super-powered robotic glove sounds like it should be, at the very least, an entertaining discount RoboCop.”
Manborg (2011)
From our review: “It’s a hopeless exercise to try to list all of the homages that this movie makes, but trust me when I say that it’s in the dozens (including RoboCop, Mortal Kombat, and Mad Max).”
