Six movies to remember Sean Connery by

With the passing of Sir Sean Connery this week at the age of 90, we here at Mutant Reviewers remember this great actor by re-watching some of his notable works:

Highlander

From our review: “Sean Connery is pretty cool as Ramirez, Connor’s mentor, and Brown is downright creepy as the barbaric Kurgan. If you haven’t seen Highlander or you haven’t seen it in a while, get some friends together and see it again!”

From Russia With Love

From our review: “The film features a host of great performances. On the British side, Sean Connery is still pitch-perfect as 007 and even feels like an actual spy who does actual spy stuff.”

Zardoz

From our review: “Everybody who doesn’t live in a Vortex lives outside in complete caveman-style anarchy. The elites refer to them as Brutals. Because he is far too manly to wear a toga, Sean Connery plays one of these.”

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

From our review: “The miraculous addition to the cast was Sean Connery as Indiana Jones’ father. Going back and rewatching this for the hundredth time, it still amazes me that the filmmakers took this potential risk for Indy’s latest sidekick.”

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen

From our review: “Say what you will about Sean Connery being a little old for the part, and how it shows, and blah blah blah – he’s still Sean Connery. Sean Connery is awesome, always has been awesome, and always will be awesome.”

First Knight

From our review: “Sir Sean Connery is always welcome, though he plays an older Arthur much like he played Richard the Lionheart, Draco the Dragon and that guy in Highlander.”
